Entries to the competitions should be accompanied by the completed entry form. Read the additional information on the entry form before you begin.

Both competitions for each age group may be entered by an individual but only one entry is accepted for each category.
For 7-11 year olds:
BEE LINES : Write a story or poem about bees . Read this sheet for ideas before you start!
‘SAVE OUR BEES!’ POSTERS: Design a poster to highlight the threats to bees and the ways in which they can be helped. Follow the instructions on this sheet Download/View sheet
For 12- 18 years:
‘BEE SNAPS’ : Take a photo of a bee/s in action in your garden or in your local area. The bees might be on flowers , entering or leaving their nest (bumble bees) ,using a ‘bee house’ (solitary bees), or a hive (honey bees). Maximum 3 pictures per entry. (Take care to keep your distance to avoid being stung!!)
‘BEE HOUSES/ HOTELS’: Design and build a Bee House or Bee Hotel. For further information and guidance visit:

Closing date for entries 30th June. 2020
The entries will be judged by Penrith Beekeepers Association Trustees. Their decision will be final. Winning entries will be displayed on the PBKA website and when the Covid -19 restrictions are lifted, arrangements will be made to display them in a public location in Penrith.
